Size large jackets are sometimes a bit big on me, and mediums are
usually small (I am 5'8" and about 145lbs, with a reasonably slender
build but with a somewhat ample bust). However, since I prefer my
jackets not to be tight, I usually buy a size large. Woolrich also

did fit, it was too small to comfortably wear a turtleneck or other cool
weather shirt under it. I returned it and ordered an XL, which, while a

Moral of the story: If you are slender, have a smaller bust, and prefer

Columbia Women's Plus-Size Benton Springs Ii Long Hoodie Plus
I love this jacket! I was looking for something light weight for the
fall, that was roomy enough through and would cover my hips. This
jacket did both and looks nice too! It has a hood, which is a plus for
those drizzly fall mornings. The quality is excellent, it's very well
made. I haven't washed it yet, but judging from other Columbia
sportswear items that I own, I don't anticipate a problem.

Fleece Jackets Columbia Women's Plus-Size Fast Trek II Full Zip Fleece Jacket I ordered this with the hope that I would be able to wear it during
early Indiana winters, when it gets down to 40-45 degrees. I just took a
10 min walk outside with it on and I was still pretty chilly in 42
degree weather. I would say the jacket would be fine with a sweater
underneath in these temps, but wearing it when it gets below 40 would
not be a good idea. I have a lot of other fleece jackets, but I think
this is the nicest lightweight I own. There's plenty of room to layer,
it looks casual and feminine, and it's not too bulky. I'd recommend this
much more than the Benton Springs fleece because it doesn't look as
bulky or plushy.

It does kind of pooch out in an odd looking
way when you sit ( when it's zippered), but that's just from the
slightly stiff material. I was expecting a softer material. The thumb
holes come in handy, and the black details go nicely with the overall
toffee color. Maybee a bit overpriced, but all in all, I like it.
One
more thing, you cannot wear a sweater under this coat, which is why I
originally thought it was too tight. I just wear a tank top under this
coat and it's fine.

Shipping was super fast! Even though I chose the regular, 3-5 business
day shipping, I ordered Wednesday night, it shipped on Thursday and it
arrived on Friday! I was amazed! It's pretty warm; I ordered a
small/black and I'd say that it's perfect. I bought it because I see
that fleece jackets are really coming into style and I wasn't really
looking to spend 100+ on a Northface jacket. This Port Authority fleece
is amazing; I'm thinking of purchasing a navy one also. It'd be great if
they had a charcoal grey fleece jacket because I'd be all over that.

I was out shopping recently and I didn't realize how cold it was going
to be that day. I had not brought anything with me to layer with and I
stopped into the outerwear section of a sporting goods store looking for
something affordable I could pick up to keep warm for the rest of the
day. I found myself deciding between this Columbia Benton Springs Zip
Fleece and a NorthFace Osito Jacket for Women. Both were just as warm and nice looking in appearance, but the Columbia was 1/3 the price. So the Columbia is was.
Color: I
picked it up in a color called "Corange". I'm thinking it stands for a
cross between coral and orange, since this is how I would describe the
color. The "corange" color can easily transition from summer to fall.

Fleece Jackets Columbia Women's Pearl Plush II Fleece Jacket Just received my jacket, and I am very conflicted. On one hand, it is
super soft and looks cute because it is very fitted. I am 5'8" and 125
pounds, I bought small, the body fits nice, but as others have
reported, the arms are snug. The other problem is the collar, it is too
thick to lay down, I have remedied this by folding the back of the
collar down and safety pinning it. The question is, should I have to do
that. I got a good price elsewhere, $45, so I am tempted to keep it. I
did buy it in small, knowing that I was not going to try and wear a
sweater underneath. I haven't even washed it yet, and it seems to shed
very little. I think a Medium would not fit as nice in the body, which
defeats the purpose of buying a fitted jacket, was trying to avoid
looking like a giant stuffed black bear.
Update- I returned the
jacket, as I felt like one elbow was sewn smaller than the other. I
requested another, same size, and the collar on the new one does lay
down on it's own. The arms feel OK, still snug, but more equal. I am
pretty happy with it now.
Fleece Jackets Columbia Women's Glacial Fleece III 1/2 Zip Jacket I have been wearing these Columbia half-zippers for several years. A
couple years ago they changed the design [and keep doing it every year.]
I wished they hadn't. The collar is much wider now and it's just not as
comfortable. The one I bought this year feels tighter than the older
ones. I usually start wearing these first over a T-shirt when the Fall
starts and later over a long sleeve shirt and eventually over turtle
necks in the winter. This year's version felt too tight already over a
thin long-sleeve shirt. I felt it pulled over the chest area. I do like
them nevertheless. I buy one each year to replace one that retires! I
also don't like the bright, heavy green and blue etc. I wished they had
more mellow colors.

The white one does look a bit like a doctor's or nurses uniform though
unless you dress it up with a scarf or wear a colorful turtleneck
underneath. I use if over my nightgown too for reading in bed and wear
it around the house a lot so I can keep the thermostat low.
How else is
it that I, a recent transplant from Texas to Massachusetts, could walk
out in only this fleece over a thin cotton sweater - in 30something
degree weather - and be fine in not just the cold, but the wind?
And
how is it that this fleece transitions so well from outside to inside?
When I got a chill at work and threw on this fleece, I was fine. I
wasn't too hot, even though it had just made me comfortable in
30something degree windy weather.
...magic.
I rest my case.
(For
those of a more serious demeanor: "just kidding." But really, it's a
great fleece. I was raised in Texas and did my undergrad in LA, so
Boston is my first experience living long term in a cold climate. If I
can handle cold, windy weather in just this fleece, so can you.)
For
sizing purposes: I'm about 5'6", 32B chest, and 27" waist. The XS fits
with enough room to layer light sweaters underneath. The length is great
- it falls around mid-hip for me. It also has a bit of a bias cut, so
it's not boxy.
